The grey dot between the eyes of this juvenile bullfrog is another example of a parietal eye. The parietal eye may be photoreceptive and helps with thermoregulation and the regulation of the circadian rhythm.
Some reptiles have a parietal eye (or third eye), like the small grey dot on the top of this carolina anole’s head. The parietal eye may be photoreceptive and helps with thermoregulation and the regulation of the circadian rhythm.
